About the Founders

Ana Mari and Sebastián founded Igualdad in 2021, but they have been working together for over 15 years.

About the National Network of Shelters

A feminist organization with over 20 years of experience and track record, aimed at bringing together spaces of protection that provide security, comprehensive and specialized care for women and their children who are victims of gender violence. It is continually engaged in self-regulation, professionalization, and strengthening.**

**Comprising over 69 prevention, care, and protection spaces across Mexico, it forms part of the Comprehensive Care Model for Women Victims of Violence and, where applicable, their children. This model includes: Shelters, External Care Centers, Emergency Houses, and Transition Houses. Each of its actions integrates gender perspective, human rights, and interculturality, adhering to national and international instruments in the field.
